First of all, I'm OK. Second of all, yesterday I tried to sit down in a chair that wasn't there and cracked my skull and bruised my tailbone. (Very gracefully, of course.) I got a goose egg on my head and a free trip to the emergency room but I'm totally fine. Just feel like someone's beaten me with potatoes in socks.
BUT, it made me think about the most important thing to have when you're brok(en) and you have the best life. (Besides y'all.) Cheeep health insurance. That's why I'm a member of Film Independent in LA. They give freelancers cheeep health care. It's $80 a year to join and you can get health and dental for like, $140 a month. And they don't really check up on what you do for a living, so if you've ever done anything that involves film or even thought about it, you can join. And San Fran has Film Arts, and they do the same things.
Take care of yourselves.
